Job description

The Wind Operator is responsible for the initial stage of the production process by setting up and operating winding equipment. This role ensures products are manufactured to exact specifications through precise measurements, material handling, and attention to detail. The Wind Operator plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, as work completed at this stage directly impacts downstream operations. This position supports production efficiency and product quality by minimizing errors and ensuring consistency. The role requires effective focus, precision, and adherence to quality.
Expected Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operate winding machines used in the production of film capacitors

  • Set up machines for each job, including materials, speed, temperature, pressure, and winding turns

  • Load and thread materials through machines according to setup requirements

  • Monitor multiple machines during operation to ensure consistent performance

  • Inspect product during production to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Cut, separate, and process finished material according to work instructions

  • Track and record production output and scrap accurately

  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedure

Required Skills, Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic mechanical adjustments as needed

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify problems, and implement effective adjustments

  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced production environment

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain focus and execute precision-based tasks consistently

  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle small tools, parts, and winders with precision.

  • Visual acuity for reading measurements, instructions, and monitoring equipment.

  • Hearing ability to detect alarms, machinery sounds, or verbal instructions in a noisy environment.


Pay Details: $17.00 per hour
