The Machine Operator sets up and operates dicing machines to singulate resistors to precise sizes in a cleanroom environment. This role involves handling and maintaining specialized equipment, working under a microscope to inspect parts, and following detailed written instructions to ensure product quality and safety. The operator works under limited supervision and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality electronics manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate dicing machines to singulate resistors to specified sizes.
  • Perform loading and unloading of parts and materials into and from dicing machines.
  • Align, clean, and perform routine maintenance on dicing machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect parts under a microscope, identify defects, and remove or segregate rejected parts.
  • Mount, demount, boil, and tin product according to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Handle chemical waste safely by emptying chemical waste containers into 55-gallon drums in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Use micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to verify product dimensions and quality.
  • Follow detailed written instructions and standard operating procedures to complete work accurately and consistently.
  • Adhere to all required safety rules and cleanroom protocols while performing daily tasks.
  • Work under limited supervision, managing daily workload and priorities effectively.
  • Learn new products and processes quickly and apply that knowledge to production activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to support production goals and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.

Work Environment

This role is based in a cleanroom, temperature-controlled environment designed to support precision electronics manufacturing. The position is on the 2nd shift, typically running from 3:45 p.m. to 12:15 a.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and opportunities for overtime as needed. You will work with dicing machines, microscopes, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools, as well as handle chemicals and chemical waste following established safety protocols. Cleanroom practices apply, including appropriate attire and adherence to contamination-control procedures, to maintain a safe, clean, and controlled production environment.
