JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Operator II is an entry-level position responsible for learning and operating basic production equipment across all departments, including 823, Logplant, 5E, and Lamination. This role is ideal for individuals with strong work ethic and attention to detail who are eager to learn technical skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Operators at this level are cross trained to support multiple departments as needed, ensuring production coverage and promoting safety and teamwork. The position serves as the foundation for growth and development within the Machine Operator career path.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Operate and monitor basic machinery such as vertical and horizontal balers.
  • Assist with material handling and ensure proper removal and disposal of scrap materials.
  • Perform visual quality inspections on product and report any defects or irregularities.
  • Support start-up and shutdown operations of machines under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following all safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in basic preventive maintenance and machine checks as directed by supervisor.
  • Follow all PPE, safety, and environmental compliance procedures.
  • Document production activities and report downtime or safety concerns promptly.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop multi-machine operational skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Safe and accurate machine operation with minimal supervision.
  • Compliance with quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Efficiency in material handling and waste management.
  • Timeliness and reliability in completing assigned tasks.

This position is Monday-Friday, 5AM-3PM.ย 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 0-1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment (foam or chemical industry preferred).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain production documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn new equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Physically demanding role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Regular exposure to chemicals, fumes, heat, and noise.
  • Requires wearing PPE including safety glasses, vest, and gloves as needed.
  • Work involves standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 lbs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
