Machine Operator Jobs in Boring, OR (NOW HIRING)

We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our Portland, OR, location.

Established in 1977, Immunology Consultants Laboratory, Inc. (ICL) is a local, family-owned lab that has grown from R&D to IVD. In this role, you will be responsible for performing lab duties to support the production and shipping of ELISA kits.

A Day in the Seat:

• Operate our automated pump machine to fill 96-well plates for our ELISA kits.
• Set up the equipment for daily runs, which involves priming the pumps, ensuring liquid volumes are accurate, and selecting the right program on the computer.
• Prepare the standard buffer solutions needed for the kits and make sure the machine's reservoirs stay full while it runs.
• Fill vials and carefully apply labels to our products, including buffers, antibodies, and controls.
• Do quick visual checks while the machine is running to make sure the plates are being filled evenly and consistently.
• Help keep our workspace running smoothly by washing dishes, restocking daily supplies, wiping down bench tops, and filling out standard daily logs.

What It Takes:

• High School Diploma and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced basic computer skills, including the ability to communicate by email, compose documents, enter database information, create presentations, download forms, and preserve/backup important data.
• Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, as well as compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to regularly stand and walk, use hands and fingers to type or dial, reach hands and arms, talk or hear, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
