Sewing Machine Operator I - Asheville
Reports to: Production Supervisor via Trainer
Supervises: N/A
Summary Statement: The person in this position is training to use various machines used in industrial sewing following established work and safety procedures.
Essential Job Functions
  • Check all safety devices, assuring they are in place and in working order prior to operating the machine.
  • Prior to sewing, inspect and repair any operations incorrectly done, including unacceptable stiches on materials provided to you.
  • Thread machine and change bobbin as needed.
  • Following the trainer or supervisor's instructions, perform assigned sewing tasks.

Non-Essential Job Functions
  • Attend training and meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.

Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
  • Must have the dexterity to operate various industrial sewing machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Must consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level IV operator.
  • Must consistently exceed production and quality standards of a Level III operator.

Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
