Job description

At District Photo, our employees are the heart of our company. We are seeking a Machine Operator Weekday Night Shift Canon Prostream Operator in our Phoenix factory.


This position is for the Night- Weekday shift Monday-Thursday night 5pm-3am.  Overtime will be necessary during high-peak production seasons.


Job Overview


 Purpose of the roleTo achieve daily target outputs by working collaboratively and with enthusiasm to ensure all product lines run smoothly and effectively, all service level agreements are met, and all work is produced to our agreed quality standard.


Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Run the Canon Prostream Press Printing Machine for processing.
  • Check equipment for acceptable quality production
  • Inspect produced orders for spots, dots, scratches, streaks, miss-registration, and poor color
  • Fill out all the required paperwork
  • Inspect Operator's log sheets for errors.
  • Report any quality or productivity concerns to your Supervisor.
  • Ensure that orders are loaded and staged correctly.  Check stacking and staging of products to ensure they are stacked in date rotation and by product type.
  • Complete end of shift paperwork and housekeeping assignments.
  • Review daily events and recommendations for improvements with the supervisor.
  • Review end of shift paperwork and housekeeping with the Operators.
  • Review hourly productivity and quality data with your supervisor.
  • Oversee and report any quality or productivity concerns to your supervisor.
  • manage and replenish substrates and supplies regularly.
  • maintain a neat and safe workplace.
  • Crosstrain on learning the batch management controller process to assist as needed.
  • Ensure safety in operations.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and possess valid documentation at the time of offer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-3 years Machine operation experience including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting automated machines.
  • Printing experience with previous operation of large format multi-color process printing
  • Previous experience with computers in an IT capacity
  • Degree or apprenticeship in press operation, mechatronics, mechanics, or other technical trade involving automated equipment.
