Press Operator

Midway Staffing is seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator for a first-shift opportunity with a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating press brakes to bend and form sheet metal components while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Mon - Fri | 5 AM - 1:30 PM | Occasional Saturdays 
Pay rate: $21.00 – $25.00/hour

Midway Staffing is seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator for a first-shift opportunity with a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating press brakes to bend and form sheet metal components while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Duties
  • Set up, program, and operate Salvagnini press brake systems, including the B3 press brake
  • Utilize CNC controls, barcode scanners, and automated programs to process parts
  • Adjust machine settings, including tonnage, bend angles, and back-gauge positions, based on material specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and fabrication schematics
  • Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, machinist squares, protractors, and other precision measuring tools
  • Move, load, rotate, flip, and stack sheet metal and finished parts as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and perform routine machine maintenance
  • Meet daily production goals established by the supervisor or team lead
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 2–3 years of verifiable brake press experience required
  • Previous sheet metal handling experience is required
  • Experience operating heavy industrial machinery preferred
  • Ability to safely operate equipment independently
  • Comfortable standing for an 8-hour shift while continuously handling steel sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
