AWT has the following position open in our Minneapolis, MN location:
The schedule for this position is multiple shift options available. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.
Requirements
The Press Operator position sets up, operates, and cleans up printing presses, producing a product that meets customer needs while maintaining an efficient and safe working environment.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities (Note, activities that occupy approx. 90% of time):
  • Follows daily press schedule
  • Ensures all required paperwork is complete and accurate
  • Efficiently plans out setups and changeovers
  • Ensures all components for producing product are at press so job is completely ready to produce from setup to cleanup
  • Ensures all setup components are checked for durability over a long run (cylinders locked down, plates tuned in, proper ink per job specs).
  • Conscious of waste through operation (time & material)
  • Sets up stock used as needed when available to prevent excessive waste
  • Ensures colors and registration are within tolerance per specifications
  • Ensures finished jobs are promptly moved to next operation with good and bad product clearly marked
  • Ensures ink removed from shafts of doctor roll and anilox, anilox rolls cleaned to prevent plugging of cells, all ink cleaned from press and surrounding area when possible, base rolls cleaned after use with no tape or debris remaining, and gears cleaned as needed
  • Follows ISO SOP's as trained

Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities (Occupies balance of time):
  • Performs basic preventative maintenance as needed
  • Notifies supervisor of any inconsistencies with finished product, information, and troubleshooting as needed
  • Proper and courteous use of support help as needed
  • Participates in the quality and continuous improvement processes

Physical Job Demands:
  • Able to be on feet for long periods of time
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. or more without restrictions
