Machine Operator

Jars Production Department


For more than 75 years, Spice World has been passionate about bringing everyone to a world full of flavor, year-round.

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring that the machinery is set up properly for each production run, and conforms with company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards.

  • Operates machines and equipment according to production specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Set up machines at the start of the shift and perform regular checks throughout the shift.
  • Monitor machine performance, identify and troubleshoot issues and make minor adjustments to maintain efficiency.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Follow production schedules and meet daily production requirements.
  • Keep accurate records for production schedule and on Red Zone.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and ensure a clean and organized work environment. May assign and rotate production employees for line efficiency and breaks.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, employees and other departments.
  • Assemble finished goods complying with the production specifications.
  • All employees will help keep a sanitary work environment.
  • Must comply with all good manufacturing practices. Such as (wearing hairnets, beard nets, lab coats, ear plugs, aprons, no jewelry, no food in warehouse, no gum or candy, etc.)
  • Must immediately report all defects, violations, line/equipment malfunctions and issues to the line leader.
  • Clean up spills immediately and keep the conveyers dry.
  • Participate in line cleaning during their assigned shift.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:


  • Availability to work four days ten to twelve hours shifts, weekends and overtime as needed. This is a second shift position.
  • Knowledge of Parity software.
  • Must be able to lift 30-pound boxes regularly.
  • Must be able to work in Hot and Cold environments.
  • Must be able to work in noisy areas.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimum supervision.
  • Basic math skills for calculating production needs.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
  • Utilize knowledge and requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Excellent verbal as well as written communication skills that are necessary to work in a customer-focused working environment.

Abilities and Skills:

  • Strong commitment to company goals and values.
  • Friendly and positive attitude.
  • Good communicator and listener.
  • General knowledge of all aspects of maintenance repair and service.
  • Ability to read and understand production instructions, and diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills for calculating production needs.
  • Ability to follow directions and work efficiently at manual tasks and machine operation in a food production environment.
