Job description

PURPOSE: Maintain flow in the warehouse by pulling orders, packing orders, stocking shelves, loading and unloading vehicles, shipping materials to proper destination according to Standard Operating Procedures, and delivering merchandise to customers safely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive and unload trucks that deliver products and other items to the company. This may require the use of a pallet jack or forklift.
  • Unpack boxes, and check the materials for damages or shortages.
  • Stage materials so they are ready for warehousing.
  • Receive product into company system.
  • Stock materials on warehouse shelves in proper location. This may require the use of a pallet jack or forklift.
  • Pull customer orders and check for accuracy.
  • Prepare orders that will be delivered by company driver or by motor freight.
  • Prepare shipments by assembling, packing, protecting and labeling containers.
  • Load product that is to be delivered by company driver.
  • Complete Shipping Feedback in computer system and apply necessary delivery fees.
  • Use UPS World Ship system to process orders that will be sent via UPS.
  • Log all orders that will be shipped by company driver during the next business day.
  • Perform cycle counts.
  • Perform maintenance check of the delivery vehicle and complete Fleet Condition Report and Drivers Log before beginning route.
  • Review direct route driver's log and verify that all product pulled for delivery is accurate.
  • Load items into truck ensuring that items will not be damaged in transit and those items are arranged according to delivery route.
  • Scan and replenish inventory for all Inventory Solutions cabinets.
  • Fills pick tickets and ensures that any special transactions are handled according to ISO guidelines.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in other areas of warehouse as needed or as directed by Warehouse Management.
  • Deliver materials to customer in a safe, professional and timely manner.
  • Operate Company vehicle in a safe manner to avoid causing damage to vehicle.
  • Comply with all Company policies and safety procedures.
  • Process PORMs and the discrepancies.
  • Keep the warehouse clean of debris and work hazards.
  • Organize, rearrange and create labels for warehouse shelves.

Requirements
  • Must be able to read and interpret pick tickets and shipping and receiving documents.
  • Must be able to use our company computer system and appropriate software such as Infor.
  • Forklift certification preferred (if not, may be obtained after hire).
  • A minimum of one year of warehouse experience and/or delivery driver experience.
  • Must be able to use the following equipment: computer, forklift, scanner gun, UPS machine, pallet jack, small tools such as hand saw and drill, wire cutting machine, fax machine copier and calculator.
  • Must maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license with no major traffic violations within the last 3 years.
  • Position works primarily in the warehouse area and making deliveries. This requires mobility and the flexibility to get in and out of a vehicle many times throughout the day. Position stands, walks, bends and stoops throughout the day. Position routinely lifts items as heavy as 50lbs.
  • Must be able to navigate and use Direct Route phones in addition to being able to read a map and/or use GPS to get to various locations.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong computer skills.
