Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role involves independently operating, monitoring, and adjusting high-speed packaging and production equipment in a large, automated manufacturing environment. You ensure products meet quality standards, perform regular checks, and package finished goods into boxes while complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Independently operate high-speed packaging and production machinery to meet efficiency, output, and safety targets.
• Monitor equipment performance throughout the shift, identifying issues and making adjustments to maintain smooth operation.
• Perform routine quality checks on products to ensure they meet established specifications and standards.
• Package finished products into boxes accurately and efficiently, following all packaging and labeling guidelines.
• Support general production and packing activities as needed to keep lines running and meet production schedules.
• Follow GMP protocols at all times, including proper handling of materials and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Use forklift equipment to move materials, products, and packaging supplies as required, with a focus on safe operation.
• Collaborate with team members and other crews to coordinate production activities and share information about equipment status.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and quality issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to facility rules.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to operate production or packaging machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with machine operation, including starting, stopping, monitoring, and adjusting equipment during production.
• Back ground in production and packing work, with an understanding of workflow on high-speed lines.
• Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and the ability to consistently follow regulated procedures.
• Capability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing materials as part of daily duties.
• Forklift accreditation, with at least basic skill level sufficient to perform material handling and support machine operations.
• Attention to detail for quality checking products and ensuring packaging accuracy.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts in a 24/7 facility, following continental schedules.
• Reliability and strong work ethic to meet production goals and maintain consistent performance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a machine operator in a large manufacturing or GMP-regulated facility.
• Comfort working with heavily automated, state-of-the-art equipment and adapting to new technologies.
• Experience in packaging operations, including working on high-speed lines and handling finished goods.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members across multiple crews.
• Ability to work effectively in both day shift and afternoon or night shift settings.
• Willingness to take on additional forklift duties alongside core machine operation responsibilities.

Work Environment

You work in a large, GMP-compliant manufacturing facility featuring heavily automated, state-of-the-art equipment. The environment is temperature-controlled and very clean, with strict adherence to GMP standards. Personal protective equipment is required, including hairnets, beard nets where applicable, coats, and safety shoes. The operation runs 24/7 with rotating continental day and night shifts (7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM). A sample schedule may include working Monday–Tuesday days, Wednesday–Thursday off, Friday–Sunday nights one week, followed by Monday–Tuesday off, Wednesday–Thursday days, and Friday–Sunday off the next week. Each crew consists of roughly 100 people within a facility of about 400–500 employees, offering a busy but well-organized production environment. Candidates who can only work days or only nights may be considered for contract opportunities, depending on operational needs.
