As an Auto Hot Press Operator at Husqvarna Construction in Columbia, SC, you will operate tooling, equipment, and materials for hot press sintering of powdered metal diamond segments. You'll assemble required tooling and parts inside mold frames for sintering, ensuring quality production for blade and bit manufacturing.

SHIFT:

2nd shift, Monday - Friday 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Methods:

  • Prepare, assemble, disassemble, and store graphite mold assemblies.

  • Sort and separate mold parts from completed segments.

  • Comply with EPA, environmental, and OSHA safety regulations.

Machinery:

  • Select and organize proper tooling for production.

  • Operate manufacturing equipment and select hot pressing programs per work orders.

  • Clean equipment between production runs.

Measurements:

  • Perform quality checks, including micrometer measurements and hardness/density tests.

  • Collaborate with Quality Control to refine inspection techniques.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to guidelines.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Basic industrial math and metric system proficiency.

  • Understanding of diamond tool design, micrometers, hardness testers, and precision balances.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
