Job description

Precision Die Cutting Technician

Location: Kearny Mesa

Shift: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Precision Die Cutting Technician to operate automated laminating and rotary die cutting equipment used to manufacture high-quality precision components. This position focuses on machine setup, process monitoring, quality inspections, and equipment adjustments to ensure consistent production in a clean manufacturing environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team launching a new production line and help scale manufacturing from startup through full production.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor automated laminating and rotary die cutting equipment
  • Perform machine changeovers and adjust process parameters to maintain product quality and production efficiency
  • Monitor production output and make machine adjustments as needed
  • Perform in-process visual and dimensional inspections using calipers and other precision measuring equipment
  • Review inspection results and make process adjustments to maintain specifications
  • Operate automated inspection and vision systems
  • Perform routine equipment cleaning, minor troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
  • Complete production, quality, and inspection documentation accurately
  • Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Experience operating automated die cutting, laminating, converting, packaging, or similar manufacturing equipment
  • Experience performing machine setup and changeovers
  • Comfortable using calipers and other precision measuring tools
  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) or process monitoring
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with rotary die cutting or precision converting equipment
  • Experience working with films, adhesives, laminates, medical components, labels, flexible materials, or similar products
  • Experience with automated inspection or vision systems (such as Keyence)
  • Experience interpreting dimensional inspection data
  • Experience supporting new equipment installations or manufacturing line launches
