The Tech-MRI-Registered plays a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is at Union Health.
The Imaging Services team consists of X-ray, CT, MRI, General Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Radiology. Tech-MRI-Registered Details

Essential Job Duties:

  • Perform comprehensive MRI duties including correct protocol usage, patient positioning and education, verification of orders and previous exams, and producing high-quality diagnostic images in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all safety measures and hospital policies, including contrast media administration, proper screening, infection control procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare personnel, assist with advanced procedures, document relevant data, and provide guidance to students and new employees.
  • Maintain equipment, manage quality control processes, and remain compliant with continuing education requirements and hospital policies.
  • Handle additional responsibilities such as cross-training in specialized areas, registering patients, scheduling exams, managing inventory, and performing related administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal Radiology technical training program approved by the A.M.A.
    Prefer 1 year experience as a staff radiologic technologist
  • Knowledge of magnetic fields (e.g., safety factors relative to metallic objects within patients and within the magnetic field; safety issues concerning patients and staff)
  • Excellent command of radiologic anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, and basic radiologic/MRI physics
  • Flexible work schedule to meet departmental demands
  • Ability to take on-call hours and respond to callbacks within the specified time

License/Certification:

  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or ARRT-eligible (including compliance with CE requirements)
  • Certification by the Indiana State Department of Health (Diagnostic X-Ray Machine Operator)
  • Advanced Registry by the ARRT in MRI
  • Shift Details: 7a-7:30 pm
