Job description

Job Title: Extrusion Machine Operator

Job Description

This role operates and sets up plastic extrusion machinery to produce high-quality products in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will load raw materials, assist with machine start-up and shutdown, perform quality checks, and ensure efficient, safe, and accurate production on your assigned shift.

Responsibilities

  • Load rolls of raw plastic material into industrial extrusion machinery using a stand-up forklift.
  • Assist with machine start-up, shutdown, product changeovers, and material changes to support continuous production.
  • Set up plastic extrusion machinery according to production specifications and work instructions.
  • Monitor machine performance throughout the shift and promptly notify senior operators of any process or equipment issues.
  • Make appropriate adjustments to machinery to maintain product quality, consistency, and throughput.
  • Perform quality checks using gauges, tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and visual inspection to verify products meet specifications.
  • Record production data, quality results, and downtime information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow blueprints or production documentation to ensure correct dimensions and product requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting machine issues and support corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery and material handling equipment.
