Machine Operator: Saw/Slitter Operator
Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, loading, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to meet production goals while maintaining product quality.
Key Responsibilities
· Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
· Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
· Perform routine machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
· Report equipment malfunctions and assist maintenance personnel with repairs as needed.
· Maintain accurate production records, including output and quality data.
· Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
· Load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines.
· Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
· Collaborate with supervisors and team members to achieve daily production targets.
· Flexibly rotate between different machine stations and equipment types to support daily manufacturing goals.
· Participate in training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, security, and on-time delivery.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Previous experience operating production equipment is preferred.
· Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and safety documents.
· Basic math and measurement skills.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Education/Experience:
· Technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Prior experience operating a large saw, slitter, or other similar machine. · Communicate clearly and fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
· The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
· Able to work in a production environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

· Production facility.
· May require overtime, weekends, or shift work based on production demands.
· Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and industrial materials while following established safety procedures.
