Job Title: Machine Operator / MIG Welder
Location: Burgettstown, PA
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM Mandatory overtime may be required on Fridays based on production demands. Saturday overtime is rare but may be required occasionally.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Position Summary
Mancan is in partnership with a local company seeking a skilled and dependable Machine Operator / MIG Welder. This position is responsible for operating automated MIG welding equipment, performing heat welding, assisting with product assembly, and supporting other manufacturing and labor tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, enjoys working with automated equipment, and is flexible enough to support multiple departments based on production needs. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality and safety are top priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Operate automated MIG welding equipment to manufacture door components.
Perform heat welding and MIG welding on steel components.
Cut and weld steel tubes and install axles for hanging door assemblies.
Set up, monitor, and operate manufacturing equipment while ensuring proper machine performance.
Assist with assembly of products using hand tools, drills, saws, punches, and pneumatic tools.
Operate additional automated manufacturing equipment as needed, including machining centers, press brakes, laser cutters, and other production machinery.
Read blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Perform basic machine adjustments and report equipment issues to supervisors or maintenance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Assist with general manufacturing and labor duties as assigned.
Cross-train in multiple departments and perform various production tasks based on business needs.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment or CNC machines.
MIG and TIG welding experience is a plus.
Experience with heat welding preferred.
Ability to cut and weld steel tubing and fabricate production components.
Computer skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
General math skills.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and manufacturing equipment.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Quick learner with the flexibility to move between departments and production assignments.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.
