Position Overview

The Tenter Operator position is a non-exempt, hourly position responsible for operating the Monforts Tenter Frame to heat-set fabric, assist with sewing, crane operation, and slitters. You will play a critical role in ensuring product quality and safety while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

What you'll do

  • Operate the tenter frame and associated machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Load fabric using a crane and monitor machine settings for optimal results.
  • Remove completed rolls, maintain logs, and report issues from previous shifts.
  • Perform weekly machine disassembly and cleaning, and maintain housekeeping throughout the shift.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Assist the Production Team Manager with additional tasks as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Company-issued forklift license required.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery or fabric-processing equipment preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and move up to 1,000 lbs with a pallet jack.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reaching frequently.
  • Able to follow safety rules and wear required PPE.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills for machine monitoring and logging.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Reliable and punctual, with flexibility for rotating shifts and overtime.
