Sun-Maid Growers of California in Kingsburg is currently looking to hire qualified Machine Operators.

Processing and Packaging dept.

This position is responsible for learning/operating the machine and maintaining production along the line.

This is a full-time position. Must be flexible to work any shift. (AM, PM, GRAVEYARD.)


Job summary:

Ensure that the machine is set to run within the company specification for the assigned item.

Limits overfill, and packaging material waste to specified standard, Assist with product Flow.

Keep accurate downtime records.

Communicate with others regarding product changes.

Must be proficient at verifying and documenting Centerlines

Must be able to operate computerized controls and pinpoint mechanical problems.

Keeps work area clean and well organized.

Union environment/ Union dues


Working Conditions:

Wet/damp floors, working around high-speed processing equipment, noisy environment, and close proximity to forklift traffic.


Work Activity includes but is not limited to:

Must pass background check, drug screening and physical test. High School diploma or equivalent, a plus


Must know different varieties of fruit. Must be able to distinguish between different fruit quality characteristics. Must be able to pass lockout/blockout training.

  • Good math skills, basic computer skills may be required
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
  • Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
  • Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
  • Maintain a clean & safe environment
