Job description

Groundman

  • Perform a variety of tasks assisting with the operation of the plant, using hand tools, cleaning, washing, sweeping and shoveling materials.
  • Operate heavy construction equipment to assist with plant operations (i.e. Haul Truck, Excavator, Dozer, etc.)
  • Support loadout operations by inspecting railcars and documenting any maintenance issues or deficiencies.
  • Assist with servicing, repairing and adjusting equipment used in the production process
  • Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operations
  • Assist with servicing, repairing and adjusting equipment used in the production process

Fixed Maintenance

  • Construct, assemble, troubleshoot, repair, maintain all plant equipment in a safe and timely manner.
  • Participate in maintenance operations (welding, mechanical, hydraulics, air systems, etc.) in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations.
  • Maintain equipment such as feed systems, conveying systems, screen systems, crusher systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Inspect equipment in accordance with company prescribed inspection schedule and complete equipment inspection and reports.
  • Read / understand operating manuals for plant machinery.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment (meters), and hand tools.
  • Be proficient with fabrication tools (welding, oxy/acetyl torch) required.
  • Other duties as required.

What You Will Need:

  • 2-5 years industrial maintenance experience (mechanical, hydraulic, fabrication, pneumatic)
  • Knowledge of the components of quarries preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems preferred
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work well independently with little direction
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with management/co-workers
  • To be a quick thinker / strategic planner / flexible / problem solver
