Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys keeping production moving and making sure everything comes together on time?
We’re looking for an experienced
Production Planning & Control (PPC) Coordinator to join our manufacturing team. This is an important role that helps connect Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Shipping to ensure customer orders move efficiently through the manufacturing process.

What You’ll Do
Production Planning
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and manufacturing capacity
- Review customer orders, engineering releases, and material availability to create achievable production plans
- Prioritize work orders to meet customer delivery dates while maximizing equipment and labor utilization
- Balance workloads across fabrication, machining, welding, finishing, assembly, and shipping
- Work closely with production teams to keep schedules organized and achievable
Production Control
- Monitor production progress and make scheduling adjustments when delays, equipment downtime, engineering changes, or material shortages occur
- Track work orders throughout the manufacturing process to support on-time completion
- Partner with supervisors to identify and resolve production bottlenecks
- Maintain accurate production status information
- Clearly communicate schedule changes and production priorities to appropriate departments
Material & Inventory Coordination
- Work closely with Purchasing to ensure raw materials, hardware, and outside processing services are available when needed
- Monitor critical inventory levels and identify potential shortages before they impact production
- Coordinate outside services such as powder coating, plating, painting, laser cutting, and specialty machining
- Help ensure materials are available to support scheduled production
Customer Delivery & Shipping
- Help ensure customer delivery commitments are met
- Communicate realistic production and delivery timelines to Sales and Customer Service
- Assist with expediting high-priority orders when necessary
- Coordinate shipping schedules with final production completion
- Help keep teams informed of potential delays or changes that could impact customers
Continuous Improvement
- Review production data to identify opportunities to improve scheduling, throughput, and resource utilization
- Help reduce lead times and improve overall manufacturing workflow
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures related to production planning and control
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate ERP/MRP information, including work orders, routings, schedules, and due dates
- Prepare and maintain reports related to production performance, on-time delivery, work-in-process (WIP), and capacity utilization
- Ensure production documentation remains accurate and up to date throughout the manufacturing process
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of production planning, production control, or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
- Experience in custom sheet metal fabrication is highly preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, machining, finishing, and assembly
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience
- Lean Manufacturing principles and practices
- APICS/ASCM CPIM certification or similar credentials
- Capacity planning and finite scheduling
- Inventory management

Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk throughout a manufacturing facility
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Comfortable working in both office and shop-floor environments
- Ability to work around occasional noise, dust, and manufacturing equipment
