Machine Operator
Department: Manufacturing & Distribution - General Labor
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Houston, TX
Reporting To: Jamshid Boroujerdi
Description
This position involves performing repetitive machining tasks such as sawing, drilling, grinding, threading, and cleaning on various metal materials. Working from prints, travelers, and instructions, the role includes selecting materials, checking dimensions with measuring tools, deburring parts, and making necessary adjustments to meet specifications. Operators are expected to perform first-piece and in-process inspections, use cranes or carts to move materials, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Familiarity with both imperial and metric measurements is required, along with the ability to cross-train on other machines and assist in maintaining workplace safety.
How You Will Help
  • Setup and change part programs on the machines
  • Prepare machine to change over to a different product.
  • Change out chuck jaws unassisted as necessary.
  • Change tooling and inserts as necessary.
  • Operate and maintain multiple machines if they are automatic (if required to run production)
  • Operate machine in accordance to standardized working practices
  • Follow machine safety operating procedures
  • Maintain a specified production rate on all machine operations.
  • Report quantity processed on job router completely and accurately will all required information
  • Report quantity processed using current ERP reporting system
  • Inspect Production
  • Read and interpret work instructions.
  • Know acceptable and unacceptable quality levels.
  • Gauge and visually inspect parts as required by SOP (standard operating procedure).
  • Maintenance
  • Perform operator maintenance including adding coolant, lubrication and hydraulic oil as required.
  • Report mechanical problems, broken tooling or items on machine needing repair.
  • Participate in and support all company Quality and Safety Programs
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
