Job description

Custom Machine Build Electrician
Orbitform Jackson, MI Full-time
Join Our Team
Ever wanted to be the person who makes a multi-ton custom machine actually come alive? At Orbitform, we design and build custom machines that our customers rely on to run their production lines, and we need a Custom Machine Build Electrician who loves wiring things up, chasing down gremlins, and seeing a machine fire up for the first time.
If you get a kick out of solving puzzles with a multimeter in hand, this one's for you.
Requirements
What You'll Do
  • Wire panels and machines from the ground up - basic machine wiring and panel building is your bread and butter
  • Perform electrical assembly on our standard and custom-designed machines
  • Bring machines to life: perform start-up, debug issues, and help with customer run-offs
  • Team up with senior machine builders on the electrical side of custom machine builds
  • Be the voice that tells Engineering "here's how we make this better" - your feedback helps eliminate defects and improve our products
  • Keep quality front and center so our machines keep performing long after they leave our building
  • Jump into cross-functional teams working on new builds and corrective actions
  • Work safely and look out for your teammates
What We're Looking For
  • 2-4 years of machine wiring or machine servicing experience
  • Comfortable reading mechanical assembly and controls drawings
  • Solid grasp of mechanical and electrical machine operations, with basic troubleshooting chops
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Project
  • Bonus points if you've got experience with mechanical assembly, hydraulic/pneumatic plumbing, or wire routing and termination
  • Comfortable in a hands-on shop environment with noise, coolant, and temperature swings - hey, that's manufacturing!
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs
Schedule
Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM, 40 hours per week. Regular overtime and frequent weekend work required. Travel is primarily local, with occasional out-of-area or overnight trips.
Benefits
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Short-Term & Long-Term Disability
  • Life Insurance
  • Aflac
  • 10 Paid Holidays
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
