Job description


The Machine Operator IV position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, Alabama.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Must be able to configure, operate, and optimize multi-stage automated systems and CNC equipment for maximum line efficiency.
โ€ข Must be able to analyze equipment data to recommend improvements to uptime, reduce cycle times, and resolve technical bottlenecks.
โ€ข Must be able to perform and document repetitive TPM (total preventive maintenance) routines for automated systems and support maintenance with other tasks.
โ€ข Use MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to ensure accurate part tracking, production reporting, and data collection. (preferred)
โ€ข Must collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address machine performance-related issues.
โ€ข Must identify and recommend process improvements that enhance machine stability and product flow.
โ€ข Maintain an organized work area using 5S and (RPS) Rheem Production System principles.
โ€ข Own the technical performance and flow stability of the assigned area.
โ€ข Observe all departmental safety requirements.
โ€ข Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
โ€ข Perform other related duties as required by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED, Secondary School Diploma, etc.).
  • 1+ years experience in manufacturing environment/warehouse setting working on automated systems.
  • Able to demonstrate basic mechanical and digital experience.
  • Previous manufacturing experience with automation responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with basic lean principles - 5S and RPS (basic tools).
  • Work Environment:
  • May be exposed to high noise levels.
  • Physical Demands:
  • Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs; Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs; Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs. Must be able to walk, stand, and/or lift repetitively during shift.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Candidate must promote the Rheem Values of Integrity, Teamwork and Business Ethics. Candidate must be able to work overtime as needed. Candidate must have strong measurement reading skills and be able to read and interpret blueprints/sketches and diagrams. Candidate must be able to perform consistently within the physical requirements of the role. Candidate must possess good communications skills.
