Job description

Key position functions include:

  • Be familiar and adhere to all Safety and Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of API/ISO, QCP’s, OP’s, Engineering and Material Specifications as relevant to appointed position.
  • Operate CNC Lathe according to program and in conjunction with work order.
  • Maintain productivity, efficiency, production standards and product quality.
  • Stamp own machinist I.D. on all pieces, and re-stamp and/or mark heat numbers on pieces when heat numbers have been removed by machining.
  • To identify machining rejects (By separation and/or marking) per OP 211.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment in a safe and conscientious manner.
  • Keep machines clean and maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Work in conjunction with Programming and Lead Hand to maintain, improve and recommend efficient machining methods.
  • Fill out daily job cards and/or Kiosk accurately and neatly.
  • Sign off on process traveler, sequence number, operation number, machine number, production counts, etc. per OP 205.
  • Notify Lead Hand or Department Manager of machine problems and check oil levels daily.
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead Hand.

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • Must have good communication skills and able to read and write in English.
  • Have mathematical ability.
  • Must have good understanding of CNC Programs.
  • Must have successfully passed company’s three-month probationary period and have a minimum of (18) months experience as a CNC Lathe Operator Level 1 OR 2 years minimum previous experience as a CNC Machine Operator.
