Job description

Brannon Steel is looking for an experienced Laser Cutting Machine Operator to work at its Brampton manufacturing location on the afternoon shift. From $25.11 per hour and up PLUS up to $2 per hour in afternoon shift premiums.

Shifts:

Afternoon (3pm-11pm)

Duties

  • Operate one or more laser cutting machines in a safe, efficient manner (i.e. setup, monitoring, troubleshooting).
  • Perform basic machine maintenance (i.e. centering lens, changing consumables, emptying waste).
  • Organize equipment and materials to minimize downtime.
  • Perform material handling activities (i.e. locating material, loading/unloading machine) using an overhead crane or other material handling equipment.
  • Complete all required documents in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Complete assigned housekeeping activities and contribute to overall shop cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist other Laser staff when work schedule permits.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and practices.

Requirements

  • Comfortable with the use of computers.
  • Overhead crane experience with valid record of training.
  • Able to read and interpret nest plans and part drawings.
  • Able to complete all required documents accurately clearly.
  • Demonstrated safe work habits, commitment to quality, and attention to detail.
