Forklift / Machine Operator | Silgan Closures | Champaign, IL
Join Silgan Closures, a Fortune 500 leader in sustainable packaging, as a Forklift / Machine Operator at our Champaign, Illinois manufacturing facility. In this warehouse and production role, you will operate forklifts, support material handling and inventory control, and run packaging and production equipment to ensure efficient movement and storage of finished goods.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Forklift Operators, Material Handlers, Warehouse Associates, Production Operators, or Machine Operators seeking a stable, long-term career in manufacturing, logistics, and packaging operations.

What You Will Do:
  • Operate forklifts and powered industrial trucks to transport materials throughout the warehouse and production facility
  • Perform material handling, pallet movement, and inventory control tasks
  • Stage, load, and store finished goods in designated warehouse locations
  • Operate packaging equipment, including stretch wrap machines, labelers, and carton sealers
  • Label pallets and verify carton labels for shipping accuracy and inventory tracking
  • Run inventory reports and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Monitor and operate automated systems, including AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and robotic palletizers
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, jams, and mechanical problems
  • Perform minor repairs and equipment adjustments to maintain production flow
  • Inspect product quality and ensure compliance with manufacturing and packaging standards
  • Support preventive maintenance activities on production equipment
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and production work areas
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, and safety compliance standards
What You'll Need:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 6 to 12 months' experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or forklift operation
  • Experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Operator, Production Associate, or Machine Operator preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to operate production equipment and material handling systems
