We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne, IN. What You Will Do: * Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
* Analyze and translate system requirements into detailed software specifications and designs.
* Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.
* Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
* Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance software quality and development practices.
* Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference. Qualifications You Must Have: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 2+ years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with 0-2 years of experience.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python or other computer languages.
* Understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and practices.
* Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
* Experience using version control tools like Git. Qualifications We Prefer: * Experience with Linux and/or real-time embedded systems such vxWorks or Integrity.
* Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab and secure software development methodologies.
* Experience with unit test frameworks such as gTest/gMock.
* Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance
* Familiarity with gRPC and Protobufs
* Familiarity with Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
* Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
