Job description

Position Summary

The AI & Workflow Automation Administrator is responsible for leading the adoption, implementation, and governance of artificial intelligence (AI) and workflow automation technologies across Louisiana Economic Development (LED). This position serves as the primary resource for integrating AI-driven tools into business operations, improving efficiency, and supporting enterprise digital transformation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities


AI Strategy & Implementation

•    Lead implementation of AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT, across LED

•    Identify opportunities to apply AI to improve productivity and decision-making

•    Support development and integration of AI-enabled platforms (e.g., small business AI toolkit)

Workflow Automation

•     Design and implement automated workflows using Microsoft 365, Power Automate, and related platforms

•     Leverage no-code AI-powered platforms (i.e. Lovable or Replit) to prototype, deploy, and iterate automated business processes across departments

•     Reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency by automating recurring administrative and operational tasks

System Integration & Collaboration

•    Coordinate with Software Division to integrate AI and automation into enterprise systems

•    Ensure alignment between AI tools, data systems, and reporting platforms

•    Support integration with Salesforce, Monday.com, and FastLane

Governance & Standards

•    Develop and maintain policies for AI usage, data handling, and security

•    Establish best practices for automation and AI deployment

•    Ensure compliance with state IT and data governance standards

Training & Adoption

•    Support training initiatives related to Copilot and automation tools

•    Develop guidance and best practices for staff use of AI tools

•    Promote adoption across divisions

Monitoring & Optimization

•    Track usage and effectiveness of AI and automation tools

•    Identify opportunities for improvement and expansion

•    Report on performance, efficiency gains, and ROI


Strategic Importance

This role is critical to LED’s transition to a modern IT environment, enabling the organization to leverage AI as a core capability and improve operational efficiency.


Work Experience

Minimum Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, or related field

•    3+ years of experience with enterprise systems, automation tools, or data platforms

•    Experience with Microsoft 365 environment (Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform)

•    Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

•    Experience with AI tools, ChatGPT, Copilot, or machine learning applications

•    Experience with system integration (Salesforce, APIs, data flows)

•    Knowledge of data governance and security best practices

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•    Experience in public sector or enterprise environments
