Job description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Able to perform all Job Responsibilities and Qualifications of a Machinist I
  • Machine flanges to ASME 16.50 specifications
  • Perform precision work on all turning and milling equipment
  • Fabricate brackets & couplings
  • Machine valve trim and bodies to critical tolerances as provided by manufacturer
  • Fabricate fixtures and jigs
  • Able to research and locate manufacturer drawings
  • Read and interpret manufacturer drawings and dimensions
  • Able to remove broken studs and bolts without damaging the integrity of workpiece
  • Mill key slots and perform internal broaching
  • Calibration and certification of machining equipment / tools in accordance with internal Quality procedures
  • Machine ACME, Stub ACME, SAE, and Metric threads (right and left handed)
  • Machine mounting pads for actuators
  • Proper use of a divider head
  • Support Machinist I through mentoring and / or on the job training
  • Understanding and usage of advanced measuring tools (micrometer, depth gauge, calipers, etc.)
  • Introductory learning to cut multiple lead threads (right and left handed)
  • Introductory learning to operate portable machining equipment

Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
  • HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
  • Machinist degree preferred
    • 2 - 5 years' industry experience as a Machinist
  • Job Knowledge/Requirements:
  • Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC , only if required)
  • Knowledge of applicable internal quality procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all machining equipment, setup, and operation
  • Effective oral & written communication skills
  • Demonstrated "can do" attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Supervision:
    • Minimal supervision required
  • Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
  • Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening

Essential Physical Functions:
  • Lifting: up to 50 pounds
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
  • Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
  • Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
