Job description

The Machinist Intern at Mate Precision Technologies will perform general maintenance on various machines and learn to operate manual and CNC machines within their department. They will also learn to inspect the products they are running using various measuring devices. Current enrollment in a CNC Technology program at a technical college is required.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Set up and run various machines.
  • Inspect work using gaging and inspection devices to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Meet expectations for productivity and quality and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Follows guidelines established for work scheduling and understanding delivery objectives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean activities.
  • Collaborates with others, is open-minded, responsive, and supportive of others' efforts to succeed.
  • Demonstrates integrity by being dependable, having good judgment, being honest, and taking responsibility for their actions.
  • Respectful of others, encouraging others to share their ideas, actively listening to others, and having common courtesy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must enroll or be enrolled in CNC Technology program,required.
  • Good attitude and self-motivated.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.
  • A willingness to learn new machining skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Occasional bending and stooping.
  • Use of hand to finger.
