Job description

Summary:
Electrical software design, build and troubleshooting of control system solutions for industrial equipment and automation products by performing the following duties.

Senior Control Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

·         Report directly to Control Engineering Manager, or directly to Owner in absence of Manager.

·         Delegate and balance existing and incoming workloads to the controls group.

·         Weekly update on control engineering workload and schedules. 

·         Working with ASI sales on verifying man hours for projects and workloads for sales planning.

·         Develop customer relationships to identify assigned project needs in a timely manner. 

·         Training and assistance with new hire learning.

·         Self-sufficient with project research and development.

·         Oversee control projects to keep standards and quality in our programming.

·         After hours support with assigned projects or delegated in agreement with co-workers of comparable capabilities when needed.

·         Timely Communication Response –

    • Current engineering workload status.
    • Response to incoming communications from managers.
    • Communications with customers on project needs to keep productivity flow.

Control Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

·         Develop Electrical designs proficiently in AutoCad Electrical.

·         Develop PLC Logic designs in Rockwell RSLogix5000 (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), RSLogix500 (MicroLogix), CXONE and Sysmac Studio (OMRON), and/or GX Works (Mitsubishi).

·         Design Graphical User Interfaces with Rockwell FactoryTalk View Studio, CXONE, Automation Direct, Visual Basic, Indusoft Web Studio, and/or GT Works.

·         Use various communication protocols, including Ethernet IP, DeviceNet, and EtherCat.

·         Machine commissioning: program start-up, debug and install of automation systems.

·         Responsible for troubleshooting equipment and validating the control systems to ensure reliability in operating environments.

·         Write documentation and system specifications toward fulfilling the scope of work set forth by the ASI program manager.

·         Develop technical scope of work documents and estimate time and resources needed for the control’s aspect of projects.

·         Understanding and implementation of customer and ASI specifications and standards.

·         Use various communication protocols, including Ethernet IP, Remote I/O, DeviceNet, and EtherCat.

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office.

·         Professionally represent ASI at customer’s sites during commissioning and service.

·         Active participation in communicating and suggesting company goals.

·         Communicate and provide status reports to management.
