Position Summary:
Responsible for preparing, staging products, and operating automated inspection machines. Visually examining and removing any/all defective gelatin capsules from batches either manually or through use of automated equipment
Responsibilities:
  • Cleans and prepares inspection area for use.
  • Cleans bins and trays for inspection and transfer of product.
  • Visually inspects capsules and removes any defective product through use of automated equipment or visual inspection techniques.
  • Operates automated equipment that sorts, polishes, and inspects capsules to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Maintains routine documentation on each batch of capsules; prepares log entries and labels product container(s).
  • Lifts/carries containers, parts, or capsules weighing up to 30 pounds regularly and pushes and pulls material on wheels or with pallet jacks up to 400 pounds.
  • Locates/moves product into or out of drying tunnels.
  • Checks and maintains hardness checks on soft gel capsules.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

Certification:
  • None.

Experience:
  • No experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic computer skills required to operate automated inspection machines and transact inventory.
  • Manual dexterity/hand-eye coordination to identify and remove defective elastic soft gelatin capsules.
  • English communication skills to maintain routine written logs and records. Communicate with supervisors and others and read batch records, operating instructions, and safety regulations.
  • Full color vision to identify color defects in capsules.

Physical Requirements:
  • Stand/walk for the full twelve-hour shift. Perform repetitive job duties for long periods of time.
  • Physical ability to bend, lift, and carry parts or product weighing up to 30 pounds, push and pull materials on wheels or with pallet jacks up to 400 pounds, and work on feet for the full twelve-hour shift.
  • Use eye-hand coordination to rapidly identify and remove defective capsules.

Environment:
  • Mostly clean and comfortable with some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, oily/wet conditions, etc.
  • Requires wearing of hair nets, uniforms, gloves, earplugs, and safety glasses

Safety:
  • The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices without endangering the health or safety of self or others.

The salary range for this position is $37,000.00 - $60,000.00.
Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment. Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) match, and other wellness benefits.
Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity to meet the needs of our business, Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.
Voluntary overtime requested by non-exempt employees must be approved in advance by the employee's supervisor.
