Job Title: Plumber Helper

Job Description

This role supports the installation team on commercial construction projects focused on fire protection systems. You will prepare materials for multiple crews across various job sites and work hands-on with piping, fittings, and related equipment in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and stage materials for all installation crews across all assigned job sites.
  • Handle and organize pipe, fittings, valves, hangers, heads, and sleeves to support daily installation activities.
  • Assist with installation work on commercial new construction projects involving fire protection systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to understand layout, routing, and installation requirements.
  • Operate a Rigid 300 machine to thread and groove pipe as needed for system installation.
  • Use band saws and other cutting tools to cut, bend, and modify pipe and related materials safely and accurately.
  • Support work on a variety of fire protection systems, including wet, dry, preaction, deluge, anti-freeze, foam water spray systems, and clean agent systems.
  • Assist with installation and handling of diesel and electric fire pumps, backflow prevention devices, altitude control valves, hot boxes, ductile-to-plastic transitions, full-flow water meters, and portable fire extinguishers.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work area on commercial job sites while adhering to safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the install and service teams to ensure materials and equipment are ready for inspections, testing, and ongoing service work.

Essential Skills

  • Basic understanding of pipe, fittings, valves, hangers, heads, and sleeves used in fire protection and piping systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
