Job description

We are looking for skilled and motivated Machine Operators for our New Ellenton , FL concrete block manufacturing facility. 

Under the direction of the plant manager, shift supervisor and/or other designated lead personnel the Machine Operator maintains the facility in a clean, orderly and hazard free condition. This position will operate, monitor, and maintain concrete block manufacturing equipment. 


  • Maintain work area in clean and hazard free condition. 
  • Operate machine control panels with electronic switches. 
  • Visually inspect products and by-products for conformity to prescribed quality standards such as color, shape and corners. Remove poor quality products and by-products as required. 
  • Make minor adjustment and repairs on machinery, such as removing jams. 
  • Monitor the operation of manufacturing equipment to detect and report malfunctions. 
  • Perform quality control and fill out documentation. 
  • Empty reject dumpsters, clean loose material from around conveyors and batching equipment. 
  • Perform other functions and duties as required or directed, such as assisting with maintenance, cleaning and repair of machinery. 
  • Follow all safety rules. 

Required Skills: 

  • Use, read and understand rulers and tape measures 
  • Read, write and speak English as required by safety standards and job expectations 
  • Basic math skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, averaging, etc. 
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills 
  • Must be able to perform duties requiring bending, stooping, squatting and crawling. 
  • Must be able to lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to 95 pounds each from floor level to heights up to 4 feet. 
  • Must be able to climb ladders to heights of 7 feet or more. 
  • The appropriate candidate will possess at least 1-year experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment. 

 
Minimum Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to perform duties requiring bending, stooping, squatting, and crawling at least 50% of shift. Requires standing 75% of shift (Based on 8 ~ 12-hour shift). 
  • Must be able to lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to 95 pounds each from floor level to heights up to 4 feet. 
  • Must be able to climb ladders up to 7 feet to access material hoppers and equipment platforms. 
  • This position will work inside with seasonal temperatures ranging from 25° to 100° F
