The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is a key role in supporting daily production operations. This position provides facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, as well as repair and replacement maintenance activities on all primary industrial and secondary equipment.

Summary of Job Duties

  • Prioritize daily work orders to complete preventative and standard repairs, emergency maintenance, and large-scale projects, with minimal disruption to production.
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance activities and respond to scheduled calls for maintenance support; job duties involve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic activities.
  • Collaborate with team members such as set-up and technicians to diagnose and identify repairs.
  • Responsible for equipment and parts ordering and completing proper ordering documentation.
  • Safely operate forklift and other industrial equipment.
  • Maintain and update documentation and records as required.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to professionally communicate and collaborate with all other departments.

Work Environment

This job will be performed in production, warehouse, office, and outside buildings, requiring exposure to varying weather conditions and operating in a manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled. Moderate to loud noise levels that require associates to wear hearing protection. This position may require work above or below ground level and in confined spaces. This position will routinely work on and around industrial equipment and systems including, blow molding machinery, CNC machinery, motors, motor control centers, emergency generators, water coolers, air compressors, grinders, hand tools, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, bending, stooping, grip/grasping, twisting, reaching above the head, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs. Ability to use tools and other industrial equipment. Ability to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret color manuals, blueprints, schematic drawings, and other instructions.
  • Ability to effectively identify required repairs and maintenance while utilizing resources effectively.
  • Ability to analyze and identify needed tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to complete work orders.
  • Ability to accurately complete documentation and maintenance records.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of Industrial Maintenance Mechanic experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Plastic Blow mold equipment is preferred.
  • Strong Electrical knowledge is preferred.
  • 3+ years experience performing diagnostics and repair PLC, VSD, and other instrumentation strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years experience performing diagnosis and repair of closed loop hydraulics is preferred .
  • Stage III Mechanic experience preferred.
  • Production/Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Forklift Certified.
  • Ability to be certified on other Industrial equipment as required.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required to attend outside training
