Maintenance I

Position Summary:

Perform installations, troubleshoot issues, maintain and repair equipment and fixtures. Equipment assembly, pneumatic and hydraulic installation, machining and modifying parts, equipment debug, and safety feature installation. Assist machine and modifying parts, equipment debug, and safety feature installation. Assist machine operators with mechanical set-up and operation of production machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Trouble-shoot and debug various types of processing and packaging machines
  • Utilize blueprints, sketches
  • Perform machining and modify parts as needed for repairs
  • Operate a wide variety of machine tools throughout the maintenance shop
  • Install align, rig and erect all types of equipment safely
  • Weld with MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy-acetylene
  • Install pneumatic and hydraulic components from schematics
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding technical information
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance
  • Work using proper Lockout/Tagout procedures to wear proper PPE
  • Maintain good housekeeping and hazard free work area according to safety rules, processes and procedures
  • Perform testing before putting machines and/or equipment into service to ensure safe start-up and operation
  • Complete documentation, time records and material logs in CMM system
  • Coordinates with maintenance personnel to insure smooth shift transitions and communication of cell maintenance needs
  • Support TPM/CLAIR program and perform preventive maintenance on all machines
  • Perform corrections and adjustments on machinery and equipment to maintain optimum productivity and quality
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and work with associates to evaluate and implement improvements with approval and in coordination with plant supervisors
