Job description

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machines used to process paper products. This includes sheeting, slitting, and other converting machines. The role requires attention to quality, safety, and efficiency while working independently or as part of a team. Operators will also assist with light maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth production operations.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate various paper converting machines (e.g., sheeter, slitter, crepe streamer machines).
  • Load and unload paper rolls using forklifts, clamp trucks, and overhead hoists.
  • Thread materials through machines and adjust settings such as knives, tension, and alignment as needed.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments for optimal performance and product quality.
  • Maintain proper levels of supplies such as glue and packaging materials.
  • Perform hourly quality checks, including measuring roll length, weight, and diameter.
