Assembly Machine Operator - 2nd shift

Description

Job Summary:

The Operator, Assembly Machinery, is responsible for all aspects of operating assembly equipment to production and quality standards, within budget and on time.

Machines that are included under โ€œAssembly Machineryโ€: Batch droppers, shrink-wrapping machines, conveyor systems, collating equipment, automated taping machines, and future assembly equipment.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:45pm - 11:15pm. To support onboarding and skill development, training for this position will be conducted on first shift (Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 3:15pm) for approximately one month prior to transitioning to the assigned shift schedule.

Job Description:

  • Reads instructions for job ticket and sets the machines up or directs set-up of machines based on instructions.

  • Set up, adjust, and operate production equipment to meet production specifications and quality standards.

  • Perform machine changeovers, calibrations, and start-ups to ensure accurate counts, proper alignment, secure packaging, and on-time completion of kitting and assembly jobs.

  • Responsible for optimum speed, registration, and quality according to established standards.

  • Run, adjust, and troubleshoot production jobs on the machinery.

  • Works in collaboration with operators, maintenance, and engineering to optimize the equipment for running efficiency including performing preventative maintenance.

  • Travels to machine vendors for hands on training to accurately operator machinery and train Imagine associates onsite.

  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment by following all safety protocols, documenting production activity, and adhering to company quality and operational standards.

  • Maintains and provides production logs and reports, as necessary.

  • Accounts for labor and materials consumed through accurate data collection.

  • Assists management in the training of production personnel across multiple shifts on how to operate machinery.

  • Assist in general cleaning up and keeping the work area neat and orderly.

  • Works overtime as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications of Position:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications of Position:

  • Previous experience on the same or similar machines.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of how to mix and produce correct color in printing.

  • Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions.

  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Knowledge of press operations and functions.

  • Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.

  • Positive safety attitude.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping.

  • Frequent Standing for prolonged periods.

PAY STATEMENT

The national pay range for this role is listed below. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
