Responsibilities


  • Trouble shooting/repairs/installations of electrical and mechanical services with knowledge of 600 V AC and lower field wiring complete with a good grasp of associated instrumentation and control/PLCs.
  • Interpret basic diagrams, schematic drawings, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement through reliability efforts and root cause failure analysis.
  • Install, replace, and repair safety circuits, analog process instruments, and digital instruments.
  • Install, replace, and repair PLC instrumentation and controls on a wide variety of industrial applications.
  • Install, replace, and repair motor starters and VFD's.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment.
  • Carryout oral/printed work request and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion.
  • Have intermediate grasp of related mechanical requirements and apply corrective measures.
  • Perform PM and regular Work Orders and account for inventory and labour on computerized maintenance system.
  • Welding repairs and/or fabrication of equipment parts.
  • Fulfill mechanical requirements of work orders and trouble shooting and repairs c/w requesting assistance where necessary.
  • Perform machining and sheet metal work for equipment repairs and/or upgrades to meet equipment spec's
  • Communicate daily repair activity with Supervisors and with other Departments.
  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety requirements. Familiar and trained with Man lift and forklift safe operation, LOTO, work at height, 5S procedure and standards.

Qualifications


  • Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Millwright Certificate with Red Seal from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
  • 5+ years' experience with proof of completing the Industrial Apprenticeship Program
  • Knowledge of extruders, conveyors, pumps / compressor, electrical / electronic controls, vacuum, chiller equipment.
  • Familiarity with downstream extrusion is considered an asset.
  • A candidate with relative experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to complete work orders and organize and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.


Work Environment


  • Plant environment 24-7, 2 shift operation.
  • Hours are a continental 12-hour shift: Dayshift: 6 am - 6 pm.
  • A fast-paced work environment with multiple, tight, and changing priorities
