Compensation: Hourly starting range $23 - $30; Commensurate to Skills and Experience
Hours: Full-time Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Position Description
Maas Energy Works is seeking a developing and detail-oriented EC Specialist I to support the Environmental Commodities team in executing routine compliance, data, and reporting tasks associated with renewable fuel programs. Working under general instruction, the EC Specialist I performs recurring analyses, data entry, and document preparation to ensure accuracy and consistency across environmental compliance workflows. This role operates within defined procedures and decision-making parameters, with work regularly reviewed for correctness and alignment with regulatory and internal standards. As a foundational contributor, the EC Specialist I supports team deliverables, maintains organized records, and may identify small process improvements as they gain familiarity with MEW systems, tools, and regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
  • Import, review, and organize routine operational and production data from internal systems and standardized data logs.
  • Perform initial data validation and identify potential inconsistencies, errors, or missing information for review by senior team members.
  • Assist with troubleshooting data issues by coordinating with Operations or other internal stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of monthly site summary reports and environmental commodity documentation.
  • Compile required data for environmental credit generation, including but not limited to RINs, LCFS credits, RECs, CCOs, and CFP credits.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly reports to third-party off-takers and regulatory entities under established procedures.
  • Support LCFS pathway documentation, annual reporting, and verification processes under guidance from senior team members.
  • Maintain and update basic forecasting inputs, databases, and tracking tools related to biogas production and environmental commodities.
  • Assist in maintaining databases related to environmental commodity markets, pricing, and regulatory program data.
  • Respond to routine internal data requests and support ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in data management, analysis, environmental commodities, energy markets, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic to intermediate Excel skills; willingness to learn advanced formulas, reporting techniques, and internal systems.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy, environmental markets, or regulatory compliance is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • Some travel may be required.
