Job description

Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance co-op is responsible for assisting with facilities management for all RMV Service Centers. He/she will learn the different facets relating to facilities management and ensuring smooth operation throughout our centers.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist and support operations team on ongoing projects.
  • Assist with daily site inspections.
  • Assist with resolving Service Center facility related issues and problems.
  • Assist with light duty maintenance, repairs, and installs to support the RMV Service Centers as needed
  • Assist with maintaining Prism work orders to make sure they are complete in a timely manner.
  • Assist with escorting contractors as needed.
  • Assist with tracking various needed items.
  • Assist with supporting all MassDOT business units with Property Services matters include reporting and dispatching appropriate personnel to address situations.
  • Assist maintenance supervisor with landscaping on MassDOT owned properties, light carpentry such as patching and painting.
  • Travel throughout the region and state, as required, to different facilities.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Operations Management Team.

This position requires travel throughout the state. Interested applications must at least posses a current, and valid, Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License or equivalent license from the State in which you reside. The individual selected for the coop must be able to travel sometimes daily and to multiple locations in a given day and have reliable transportation.
