Job description

Job Title: Packaging Mechanic I
Location: Monmouth Junction, NJ
Hours / Schedule: 2nd Shift | Mon-Thurs, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Type: Temp - Perm
Compensation: up to $40 per hour (pending experience)
Overview
The Packaging Mechanic I supports the Packaging Department by maintaining and repairing packaging equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, line changeovers / startups, equipment upgrades, and root cause analysis to ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and FDA requirements. Must have strong electronics / PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) background with strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose!
Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on packaging equipment (fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc.)
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement activities
  • Execute line changeovers and startups
  • Support QA and Operations during packaging runs
  • Ensure safe equipment operation at all times

Requirements
  • High school / GED
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical / Biotech packaging mechanic experience
  • Strong electrical background
  • Hands-on experience with fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc.
  • Must pass pre-employment and physical
  • Proficient in manufacturing procedures, FDA regulations, cGMPs, SOPs
  • Ability to read/interpreting safety, maintenance, and procedure manuals
  • Basic PC skills
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Requirements
  • Trade school or technical certification

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50lb
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Use of PPE as required
