Description

Markon is seeking a System Administrator to support our Fort Meade customer. The System Administrator will be responsible for provisioning, configuring, securing, and maintaining enterprise Linux-based systems and virtualized environments, while supporting automation, containerization, and system integration efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Provision, configure, patch, secure, harden, and maintain Linux-based systems, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Manage Linux Volume Manager (LVM), file systems, and system storage configurations.
  • Administer and support virtualized environments using VMware.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automation and configuration scripts, including use of Ansible.
  • Support system provisioning using Kickstart and PXE boot technologies.
  • Implement and maintain containerized environments in support of mission applications.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve operational incidents.
  • Apply system security controls in accordance with established hardening standards and security policies.
  • Support system integration efforts and collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
  • Participate in system documentation, change management, and configuration control processes.
Qualifications
  • TS/SCI w/ active Polygraph with this Customer
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field plus 10 years of relevant experience,OR 15 years of relevant Systems Administration experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including Linux Volume Manager (LVM).
  • Required experience provisioning, configuring, patching, securing, and hardening systems.
  • Required experience with VMware virtualization and Ansible automation.
  • Knowledge of IPv4 networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, Kickstart, and PXE provisioning.
  • Experience developing and implementing system configuration scripts.
  • Ability to work independently in a secure, mission-focused environment.
Salary RangeUSD $160,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
