Stay Awhile Villas, ranked #1 in California for luxury vacation rental management, is seeking an elite-level Luxury Field Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of multimillion-dollar estates in Malibu.
This is not a typical job. It is fast-paced, technically demanding, guest-facing, and operationally intense. If you cannot multitask at a high level and think proactively, this role is not for you.
You will be responsible for maintaining and operating a collection of ultra-luxury homes to five-star hospitality standards. These are complex estates with advanced technology systems, high-end finishes, and discerning guests.
You must understand how luxury homes function — mechanically, technologically, and operationally — and be able to pivot instantly between field operations and guest communication.
This role combines high-level property oversight with active guest hosting responsibilities during your shift.
Core Responsibilities
– Proactively identify and resolve maintenance issues before they escalate
– Conduct detailed preventative inspections with an ownership mindset
– Ensure homes are guest-ready at all times
– Maintain luxury-level staging and presentation standards
– Oversee housekeeping execution to hotel-level quality
– Coordinate and manage vendors, contractors, and service providers
– Maintain inventory, supplies, and property assets
– Uphold safety, security, and operational excellence
You must be comfortable troubleshooting and managing smart home and automation systems, including but not limited to:
– Control4 home automation
– Nest thermostats
– MyQ garage systems
– Lutron lighting
– Automated shades
– Sonos audio systems
– AV, WiFi networks, cameras, and integrated home tech
If you do not understand these systems or are not comfortable learning them quickly, this role is not a fit.
Guest Communication
– Communicate directly with guests during your assigned shifts
– Handle guest needs, issues, and requests in real time
– Pivot seamlessly between field management and guest communication
– Maintain a calm, solutions-oriented demeanor under pressure
– Represent the Stay Awhile brand at the highest standard
Qualifications
  • 5+ years managing luxury residential properties (Malibu experience preferred)
  • Strong preventative maintenance knowledge
  • Experience in luxury vacation rentals or hospitality strongly preferred
  • Technically proficient with smart home systems and property software
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with minimal or no points
  • Must be comfortable driving between properties; use of personal vehicle may be required
What Sets You Apart
  • You think like an owner.
  • You see what others miss.
  • You anticipate problems instead of reacting to them.
  • You understand that luxury is operational precision, not just aesthetics.
  • You can handle pressure, complexity, and high expectations without getting overwhelmed.
Performance-based growth opportunities available.
Job Type: Full-time
Benefits:
  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
