About Our Client

Our client is a leading audiovisual and smart home integration company serving residential and commercial customers across the United States. Their residential division specializes in luxury smart home technology, including custom home theaters, whole-home automation, multi-room audio/video, lighting control, and motorized shading systems.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Residential AV Technician to join their installation team. In this role, you will install, terminate, configure, and commission residential technology systems in luxury homes and high-end residential environments. You will work closely with Project Managers and Lead Technicians to deliver high-quality installations while maintaining company standards and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and terminate low-voltage cabling including HDMI, Cat6, speaker wire, and fiber optic cable according to engineered drawings and company standards.

  • Install and configure residential audio/video equipment such as televisions, projectors, speakers, amplifiers, and AV distribution systems.

  • Assist with the setup and configuration of smart home automation platforms, including Control4, Crestron, and Savant, under the guidance of Lead Technicians or Programmers.

  • Install and support lighting control and motorized shading systems, including Lutron solutions.

  • Assemble, mount, and organize equipment racks with proper cable management, labeling, and project documentation.

  • Perform basic firmware updates and assist with system programming uploads as directed.

  • Complete final system inspections, punch lists, equipment labeling, and photo documentation.

  • Maintain accurate daily time records and project documentation.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers regarding schedules, materials, and project issues.

  • Follow all company safety policies and installation procedures.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with homeowners, contractors, and other trades on-site.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of residential AV installation experience; 3+ years preferred.

  • Experience with residential automation platforms such as Control4, Crestron, or Savant.

  • Knowledge of Lutron lighting and shading systems is preferred.

  • Strong experience installing and terminating structured cabling, HDMI, speaker wiring, and residential AV systems.

  • Ability to read AV engineering drawings, rack elevations, and signal flow diagrams.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely lift up to 80 lbs on a regular basis.

  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, elevated areas, crawl spaces, equipment closets, and cabinetry.

  • Capable of performing all physical duties associated with residential AV installation.

Preferred Skills & Certifications
  • CEDIA or AVIXA CTS certification.

  • Control4, Crestron, or Savant dealer certifications.

  • Lutron residential certification.

  • Experience with Araknis or Pakedge networking equipment.

  • Basic IP networking knowledge, including DHCP, VLANs, and Wi-Fi configuration.
