Job description

The Gardens Assisted Living at Luther Park Community is looking for someone creative with a positive attitude who would enjoy conducting activities for our third floor dementia residents. This individual will assist with evening meal time in the dining room and conduct one on one, small or larger group activity per shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Life EnrichmentAssistant supports the overall Activities Program for Assisted Living at TheGardens at Luther Park Community. Responsibilities include one on oneengagement with residents, conducting group activities, assisting residentswith meals and other supportive activities as defined in resident care plansfrom 4pm to 7pm Monday through Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Serve plated food at evening meal time where help is needed.
Organize and conduct an activity with our third floor dementia residents on either a one on one basis or a small or large group.
Visit and interact with residents one-on-one and conduct small group activities during any unoccupied time.
Invite and encourage residents to attend activities. Knock on doors so they don't forget to attend.
Record resident attendance at group activities.
Engage with families and update them on how their loved one is doing and provide feedback to management and staff on residents' behaviors and activities.
Provide feedback for nursing department by watching for changes with residents.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma
Two years experiencewith seniors and/or individuals with dementia
Effective verbal andwritten communication skills
Self-directed and ableto work independently
Positive attitude towardsresidents and their reality
Team work and respectgiven to all co-workers
