Job description

Diversified Sourcing Solutions is looking for Lumber Yard Production workers for one of our clients in Northeast Houston. The Lumber Yard Production Worker supports daily yard operations including material handling, cutting, stocking, and preparing lumber products for customer orders. This role requires strong attention to safety, the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and the physical capability to lift and move heavy wood materials throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and stack lumber, plywood, and building materials
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and yard equipment (training provided if needed)
  • Assist with cutting, measuring, and preparing lumber according to customer specifications
  • Pull, stage, and package orders for delivery or pickup
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment
  • Inspect materials for defects, damage, or quality issues
  • Support production tasks such as sorting, banding, labeling, and wrapping lumber bundles
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and PPE requirements
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
  • Communicate with supervisors, drivers, and team members to ensure smooth workflow

Qualifications
  • Experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or general labor environment preferred
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical labor
  • Basic knowledge of measuring tools (tape measure, calipers) a plus
  • Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to be trained)
  • Reliable, safetyminded, and able to follow instructions
