Ag/Lumber Delivery DriverPosition Summary

The Ag/Lumber Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of agricultural products, lumber, building materials, and other inventory to customers. This role combines delivery driving, warehouse operations, inventory management, customer service, and equipment operation to ensure efficient product handling and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles, including box trucks, rack trucks, flatbeds, and other assigned delivery vehicles.

Deliver agricultural products, lumber, building materials, and related supplies to customers in a timely and professional manner.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.

Load, unload, secure, and transport products to prevent damage during transit.

Verify orders, shipping documents, and delivery paperwork for accuracy.

Obtain customer signatures, collect payments when required, and professionally address customer questions.

Receive incoming shipments and inspect products for quality and accuracy.

Move, sort, organize, and store inventory in designated warehouse and yard locations.

Remove inventory from delivery vehicles and place products in the appropriate storage areas.

Report damaged, defective, or missing inventory to management.

Stack, organize, and maintain large bulk inventory items safely and efficiently.

Update inventory records, equipment logs, and delivery documentation as required.

Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery.

Assist with warehouse, yard, and facility maintenance, including keeping work areas clean and organized.

Remove debris and safety hazards from aisles, loading areas, and workspaces.

Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and applicable state and federal requirements.

Work collaboratively with team members to achieve operational goals and maintain a positive work environment.

Assist with minor equipment maintenance and routine operational tasks as needed.

All other duties assigned due to business needs


Qualifications & Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.

CDL Class A or B and applicable endorsements may be required depending on vehicle assignments.

Previous delivery driving, warehouse, material handling, agricultural, lumberyard, or construction-related experience preferred.

Forklift certification or the ability to become certified preferred.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately manage inventory and documentation.

Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and accuracy.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Must comply with all company safety procedures, DOT regulations, and workplace policies.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull products weighing up to 100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the workday.

Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times daily.

Capable of safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

Work is performed in warehouse, yard, delivery, and customer-site environments.

Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, dust, and varying noise levels.

Ability to work extended hours, early mornings, evenings, or weekends during peak agricultural and construction seasons.

Must maintain awareness of surroundings and follow all safety procedures to minimize workplace hazards.
