Job Description & Skill Requirement:
Mechanical Engineer - Asset Management
The Mechanical Engineer - Asset Management will be responsible for developing and maintaining asset information, equipment hierarchy, preventive maintenance programs, Bills of Materials (BoM), and reliability improvement initiatives for industrial facilities. The role involves supporting asset management systems such as Maximo, SAP PM, or other CMMS platforms to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
  • Conduct asset walkdowns and field verification activities to collect the data.
  • Review P&IDs, equipment drawings, manuals, and plant documentation for asset information.
  • Develop and maintain asset registers for mechanical equipment.
  • Create and validate equipment, master data and asset attributes.
  • Establish equipment hierarchy and parent-child relationships for CMMS deployment.
  • Develop Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans for mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare Job Plans, Task Lists, and Standard Maintenance Procedures.
  • Validate Bills of Materials (BoM) for maintainable assets.
  • Define maintenance strategies based on equipment criticality and OEM recommendations.
  • Create structured asset hierarchies aligned with client standards.
  • Prepare Maximo/SAP-ready asset upload templates.
  • Support CMMS cleansing, enrichment, and standardization activities.
  • Validate asset master data prior to system upload.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, reliability, operations, and engineering teams for obtaining the data.
  • Interact with OEMs and vendors to obtain technical information.
  • Participate in client reviews, workshops, and technical discussions.
  • Provide periodic progress reports and technical updates.
